What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?
When I was 19, my nephew was kidnapped to Germany by his father during the middle of an extremely ugly divorce from my sister. I have had many other life circumstances that have touched my family and loved ones, and I know first-hand the pain that families endure, especially children. To my clients I offer the compassion and empathy that only personal experience can bring, while at the same time remaining objective so that I can provide realistic counsel on the potential outcomes of their cases. It is always my goal to present all of the options to my clients so that they can make the best decisions for their own lives.
Describe your ideal client.
I would answer this by saying that any client is an ideal client as long as he or she does not want to fight simply for the sake of fighting.
Describe your personal interests and hobbies.
With three adopted children from China, I don't have much time for hobbies. We are an active family, with swimming, soccer, horseback riding and other classes and activities going on daily. To de-stress, I like to jog, swim, lift weights, read and travel.
Describe your charitable activities.
Many of my charitable activities revolve around international adoption. I have also been involved in various pro bono projects of the bar associations to which I belong, such as representing children in cases of wrongful social security disability termination. Most recently, I have enrolled to receive additional training so that I can provide pro bono services to families who are victims of predatory mortgage lending practices and foreclosures.
