Why did you decide to become an attorney?
I like to advocate and have a talent for doing so.
What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?
Trying scores of cases has taught me what to do and what not to do in the courtroom. Being a parent has taught me to be patient and non-judgmental. Because I have been both an employer and an employee, I understand both sides of employment issues enabling me to resolve those issues without undue expense and aggravation for my clients.
What made you choose your primary area of law?
Employment issues confront every employer and employee. My clients needed this service. The market chose me.
What makes your law firm unique?
We are small and accessible. A lawyer will almost always return your call within 24 hours. We are cost effective. You will pay much less than at a larger law firm and we will help you balance the costs and benefits at every step of the process. We are experienced. You will not be paying for someone to learn at your expense.
Describe your ideal client.
The ideal client will tell me what is actually worrying them (and that includes concerns about fees). The ideal client understands that I will respect what they tell me in confidence, but that I cannot help them if I do not know both the ups and the downs of their situation. The ideal client does not expect me to give away my services and is willing to partner with me to achieve the best possible outcome on a cost effective basis. The ideal client will be happy with my services and refer their friends and business acquaintances to me for legal services because they know I have treated them fairly.
Describe your personal interests and hobbies.
I am an avid reader and amateur historian. I garden, travel, cook, and shoot skeet.
Describe your charitable activities.
Avid supporter and participant in efforts of Mid-Ohio Food Bank, Children's Hunger Alliance, and German Village Society.
